Boonville- Thomas H. Korman, 70, of Post St., husband of Joanne, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, after a long illness.
Tom was born in Constableville, NY, on October 17, 1954, a son of Henry J. and Grace Audrey Atkinson Korman. His entire life was lived in Boonville, growing up on the Korman family farm, on the Edmonds Road, near Hawkinsville. He graduated from Adirondack High School, Boonville, with the Class of 1974 and afterwards served his country in the U.S.Army, stationed at Fort Ord, at Monterrey, California, where he was honorably discharged in 1977.
On May 15, 1976, Tom was united in marriage with Joanne A. Christman, at the Lowville United Methodist Church. In 1977, the couple settled on Post St. Boonville.
For 27 years, until the plant closed, Tom was employed at Ethan Allen Furniture Company, Boonville. For the past several years of employment at the furniture company, he held the position of Plant Night Manager. Following Ethan Allen, Mr. Korman attended truck driving school, at MVCC, Utica, and began a second career as truck driver, first for Werner Co., followed by J.B. Hunt, and N.F.I., retiring from Swift Trucking Co. of Johnstown, NY.
Tom greatly enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his loving wife, Joanne, of 49 years, Tom is survived by four daughters; Jamie Proper, Le Mars, IA, Jennifer Parker, Martinsburg, Jodie Korman, Port Leyden and Jackie (Brian) Van Patten, Boonville; 14 grandchildren, Haley Wossner, (Daniel, Jr.), Bryanna Darling, Emmelie Darling, Makenzye Taylor, Kyleygh Taylor, Mariah Higby, Adriana Hutchins, Dwayne Fruin, Drake Fruin, Desmond Post, Ethan Van Patten, Ryder Van Patten, Riley Van Patten and Elsa Van Patten, three great grandchildren, Daniel Wossner, III, Saphire Wossner, Junior Phelps; two brothers, Kevin (Cindy) Korman, state of Utah, Keith (Mary Beth) Korman, Boonville. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry, in 1978, Grace Audrey Korman in, and his brother, Robert Flemming, a son in law, David Proper, and his grandmother, Ann Korman.
In addition to the loving care of his wife, Joanne, towards the end of his life, Tom was also cared for by Palliative Care, at Samaritan Hospital, Watertown. His family extends a note of sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Samaritan Medical Center, with a very special thankyou extended to Dr. Budnik, in Oncology and Jackie Queen, Nurse Manager and to Dr. Rory Sears, who all went above and beyond, doing all they could to bring comfort and healing to Tom. Bless you all.
Tom can now play golf as much as he wants. Throughout his life, Tom greatly enjoyed and excelled at the game of golf.
