Teresa Elaine Freeman

Hinckley- Teresa Elaine (Muha) Freeman, 67, of Main Street, passed away, after a brief illness, on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Teresa was born in Constableville, New York, on November 3, 1958, a daughter of Joseph A. and Jayne C. Williams Muha, Jr. She grew up on West St. in Boonville and graduated from Adirondack Central High School, Boonville, with the Class of 1976. For many years Teresa was employed as a secretary for Boonville area businesses, including Adirondack Music, Adirondack School District, Fort Drum, before eighteen years as secretary and Manager of the Boonville Herald newspaper. Afterwards she was employed for many years as a clerk at Bonnie’s Country Store, Forestport, NY. Her last employment was as a clerk at the Family Dollar, in Barneveld. For many years Teresa was active in the operation of the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. Teresa greatly enjoyed studying antiques and antiquing and she enjoyed attending garage sales and flee markets with her sister . She also enjoyed caring for her lawn and raising flowers.

She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Bush, Brenda LaBuz and her friend Steve; brother, Joseph A. Muha, III, all of Boonville; Teresa’s special friend, Jamie Helfrich; a niece, Joanne Thoman and her husband, Timothy; a nephew, Brad Bush and Gloria; great nieces and nephews, Eri, Emily, Evan, Ethan and Zyah and Zaden and one aunt, Jean Williams. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jayne Muha, who both passed away in 2021.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Ward, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville, with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville. There are no calling hours.
