Rosalie M. Strain

Forestport- Rosalie (DiPietro) Strain, 90, our beloved Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandma, peacefully passed away in her sleep, on Monday, September 21, 2026, surrounded by her family and the love that filled her life with the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Born on December 25, 1935, she was a woman whose greatest blessing was her family. She devoted her life to the people she loved and created a family legacy that will continue for generations to come.

She was the loving mother of 10 children: Linda, Charlene, Pauline, Charlie Chris, Fran, Joe, Mary, Johanna, and David. Through them, her love grew into a family of 43 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren- a remarkable legacy of 103 descendants who will carry her love and memory in their hearts.

Rosalie was more than a mother and grandmother. She was the heart of our family, a source of love, strength, comfort, and countless memories. Her presence brought people together, and her love will continue to live on through every child and grandchild she leaves behind.

Although our hearts are heavy with the loss of such a special woman, we find comfort knowing that she went peacefully and is now reunited with her beloved husband Charlie Strain, who passed away on April 21, 2000. She missed him dearly, and we find comfort knowing they are together again.

We will forever cherish the moments we shared, the lessons she taught us, the stories we will continue to tell, and the love she gave so freely.

Her life was a beautiful gift, and her greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Rev. Thomas Ward, at St. Patrick’s Church, Forestport, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., with interment to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Forestport. Calling hours are also Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon, at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.

Rest Peacefully, Mom / Grandma. You were loved beyond words, you will be missed more than words can say, and you will remain in our hearts forever.
