Woodgate- Phillip G. Buckley, 77. of State Rt. 28, husband of Dorothy, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 5, 2026, while under the loving care of his wife, niece, Judy Rogers and Hospice.

Phillip was born in Springfield, MA, on October 12, 1948, a son of Theodore E. and Dorothy E. Wood Buckley. He grew up in Springfield, where he received his education, before serving his country as a radio operator, in the U.S. Navy, in Vietnam. During that time, Mr. Buckley also received his G.E.D and was honorably discharged from the Navy, on June 17, 1969.

On July 2, 1988, Phillip was united in marriage with Dorothy Rogers, in Boonville and afterwards the couple settled at their current residence in Woodgate. Mr. Buckley was first employed as supervisor of the assembly line, for the Carrier Corporation of Syracuse, before many years of employment at Orion Bus Industries, of Oriskany, NY, as supervisor of the assembly line.

He was a lifetime member of Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W., Boonville and an avid hunter and fisherman and greatly enjoyed the outdoors of upstate New York.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Phillip is survived by one brother and sister law, Ronald and Joan Buckley, Florida; two sisters in law, Suzanne, Fl, and Candace, MD, and a niece, Judy Rogers, who resided with Phillip and Dorothy and was also a longtime caregiver for Phillip. He was predeceased by two brothers, Theodore and Donald Buckley. In addition, he is survived by two childhood friends, from when he grew up in Springfield and whom he had stayed in close contact with; Rick Taft, now of Florida and Michelle Eldridge, of Massachusetts.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM., on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Woodgate Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
