Nicole M. Egnew

West Leyden – Nicole M. Egnew, 42, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at University Hospital, Syracuse, with her loving family by her side, following a brief illness.

She was born on April 20, 1984, in Rome, NY, a daughter of Terry and Laurie Tanner Nutt. She grew up in West Leyden receiving her education at Adirondack Central School.

On August 10, 2014 Nicole was united in marriage with Keith D. Egnew. Mr. Egnew passed away on September 9, 2021. Most recently Nicole had been employed as a cook at the American Hotel, Boonville.

Nicole enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and tending to her vegetable gardens and plants. She loved music of all kinds.

She is survived by her two sons: Ethan Fountaine and Derek Egnew, her parents Terry Nutt, West Leyden, Laurie Secor, Boonville, siblings: Heather (John) Race, Terry (Heather) Nutt, all of West Leyden, Brandon (Angelica) Nutt, Ashley Nutt, Oneida, and Alyssa Nutt, Boonville. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Marlene Tanner, Rome, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Keith, she was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Malcolm Tanner, and paternal grandparents James and Loretta Nutt.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours. Nicole’s funeral arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
