Nicholas Joseph Pohoreskey

Boonville – Nicholas Joseph Pohoreskey, 35, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025 at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, following a brief illness.

Nicholas was born in Lowville, NY, on January 16, 1990, a son of Terisa Pohoreskey. He attended South Lewis Central School, where he participated on the Varsity Football and Track teams, graduating with the Class of 2008. Nicholas had been formerly employed as a carpenter for M.E. Garlock Construction Co. of Boonville.

Nicholas loved animals, nature and the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, and also enjoyed four-wheeling and snowmobiling. He was a loving father to his son Jace. Time spent with him was what brought profound joy and happiness to Nicholas.

He is survived by his son Jace, and Jace’s mother Leeza Jones and her children: Kendra and Braedyn, his significant other Valerie Morczek and her children: Alecia, Aubrey, Avery, and Gracelynn, his mother Terisa Pohoreskey, uncles: Danny Pohoreskey and his fiancé Renee, Ed Pohoreskey and Tim Pohoreskey, and maternal grandfather Peter Pohoreskey. He is also survived by Denise, Aleisha, and Jeffrey Haskins, as well as his canine companion Boomer. He was predeceased by his best friend Ethan Felshaw.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with Pastor Jack Ford officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service.
