(Howard) Farr, Jr. He lived his childhood in Pennysettlement and attended the One Room Schoolhouse, Town of Lyonsdale, before completing his education at Port Leyden Central School, graduating with the Class of 1967.
In November 1967, Jesse was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was first stationed at Oakland California, before his tour of duty began in Vietnam, in June 1968, where he served as a truck driver. On June 18, 1969, he was honorably discharged from the Army, with the rank of SP4 (T). He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Thereafter Jesse continued to serve his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, until his honorable discharge, in November 1973.

Jesse was a longtime truck driver and logger, until his retirement. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and especially having family BBQ cookouts. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, Jesse could be found watching his favorite shows; Gunsmoke or WWE Wrestling. In recent years since residing with his son, Matt, he really cherished the time spent together, either riding in the log truck or going hunting together.
