Jacqueline A. Carpenter

January 20, 1961 — November 1, 2025

Constableville, New York

Constableville- Jacqueline A. Carpenter, 64, a native and life resident of Bailey Road, passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her family at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Affectionately known as Jackie, she was born on January 20, 1961, on the Carpenter Homestead Farm, a daughter of William F. and Marian Leichty Carpenter. She received her education at Constableville Elementary School, before graduating from South Lewis High School, with the Class of 1979.

Jackie will be fondly remembered as a diligent worker, who cared for the welfare of others, and a person who always went the extra mile for others. She was definitely not a person “to just sit around!” Where ever she was employed her motto was to always be busy doing something. She was first employed on her family’s dairy farm, before many years of employment as a nurse’s assistant, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, providing “top notch” care to the residents of the nursing home. Later she was employed for United Cerebral Palsy in Boonville. Following she was employed at the Hilltop Tavern & Restaurant, in bartending, waitressing, catering and training new employees. Her last employment was in the same capacity at the Milk Plant Tavern, West Leyden. Jackie will be remembered as “the bartender” who took pride in keeping her customers well satisfied.

When not working, she enjoyed watching, reading and costumes from the Wizard of Oz. She enjoyed mowing lawns and was affectionately known as “Bailey Road’s official lawn tender.” She had a knack for gardening and raising flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her feline friends, listening to music and always wanting to play, “name that tune.” She really enjoyed sitting on her porch during a good thunderstorm, spending time with her grandkids, doing Masonry work with Kim and was famous for her lasagna. She will be fondly remembered as being, “always the life of the party,” and as the best air guitarist in Lewis County.

Jackie is survived by her lifelong partner, Robert “Kim” Felshaw; her children, Barry (Sarah Hall) Carpenter, Seth Carpenter, Matt (Rachel) Carpenter; grandchildren, Skyler, Kayden (Jaquelyn), Caleb, Peyton, Taylor, Alexis; great grandchildren, Raylynn, Tate and at the present time Jackie, was joyfully anticipating the birth of her third great grandchild, “Casen.” Also surviving are her siblings, Rosalie White, John (Janette) Carpenter, Susan Laroy (Joe Beck), Clint (Melissa) Carpenter, Ned (Rebecca) Carpenter; a sister in law Patricia Carpenter; her lifelong partner’s children; Jennifer (Michael) Gaylord, Josi Williams (Jeff), Ben Felshaw (Penny), Katie (Peter) Healt. Jackie was predeceased by siblings, William “Skip” Carpenter, Jr., Elaine Dexter, Brad Carpenter, Christine Carpenter; her parents, William and Marian Carpenter.
