Jack D. Boone

Boonville – Jack D. Boone, 72, of Kortenaer Village, formerly of Wheelock Estates, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Abraham House, Rome, with his loving companion Carol by his side.

Jack was born on September 17, 1953 in Oneonta, NY. He grew up and spent his youth in the Oneonta and Morris area, where he received his education. For several years he resided in the Sanibel Island, Florida area, where he was a tow truck operator and mechanic. Jack and Carol relocated to NY residing in Port Leyden before moving to Wheelock Estates, Boonville. They have been residents at Kortenaer Village since 2022. While residing in the north country, Jack was employed as a custodian at Big M. Supermarket, Boonville.

An avid guitar player, Jack was a member of several different bands through the years. He also enjoyed constructing model cars, amassing a collection well over six hundred models that he built himself. He also enjoyed watching drag races.

He is survived by his companion of 41 years, Carol Phelan, and their children: Kelly Worman, Morris, NY, and Bryan Phelan (Sara), Brushton, NY, grandchildren: Lauryn Fournier, Alyssia and Brendyn Maerz, Brayden, Teaghan, and Kyla Phelan, and Trystin Worman. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Laura.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at the community center at Kortenaer Village, 115 South Street, Boonville, on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
