Boonville - Hubert Randy Charboneau, 78, husband of Joyce, life resident of Woodgate Drive, Boonville, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.

Affectionately known as Randy, he was born on August 25, 1947 in Boonville, a son of Hubert R. and Carolyn Chandler Charboneau. Randy possessed a strong work ethic his entire life. He was very proud of his employment in his younger years both as a mechanic at Poppleton Chevy-Olds Auto Dealership and also at Mercer’s Dairy, Boonville. He was able to save enough funds to put himself through college. Following his graduation from Boonville Central School in 1965, Randy attended SUNY Canton, where he received his Associates Degree in Engineering in 1967.

Randy worked for several years at Revere Copper & Brass, Rome, where he worked in the cast shop. He then became co-owner of H.R. Myer’s Lumber Co., Boonville, where he worked until the business was sold. To finish his working career he spent 10 years with Lowe’s where he worked as the Supervisor of the Commercial Sales and Building Supply Dept.

On August 11, 1990, Randy was united in marriage with Joyce King Wilcox at the First Presbyterian Church, Boonville. Following their marriage the couple settled on Woodgate drive where they have since lived.

At a young age Randy learned to play the trumpet, and through the years graced many listeners with his accomplished talents. Randy enjoyed playing in the Boonville Village Band, Black River Brass, Adirondack Central School Pit Band for Musicals, at the Boonville Methodist Church, and he also served as the Director of the Boonville Marching Band.

He enjoyed hunting on Tug Hill and spending time outdoors. He always adored the company of his black labs for several years.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, step-children: Mary (Rick Stallman, Herkimer, Kathleen (John) Miner, Richfield Springs, Jerome Wilcox, Jr. and Kimberly Raymonda, Forestport, and Suzanne Grower, Forestport, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter Gracie Grower.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at Boonville Methodist Church, where Pastor Jack Ford will officiate. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 16, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Methodist Church, 105 Ann Street, Boonville, NY 13309.
