Geraldine H. Fulmer

Onieda Formerly of Boonville- Geraldine H. Fulmer, age 99, a former longtime resident of West St. Boonville and more recently of Oneida, NY and the widow of Ralph T., passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2025, at Oneida Extended Care Facility, Oneida, NY.

Geraldine was born in Malone, NY, on April 8, 1926, a daughter of Harold and Mabel Disotell Hosford. She grew up in Malone and graduated from Franklin Academy, where she excelled at playing Basketball. She furthered her education at Center City Business Institute, (C.C.B.I.) Syracuse, where she graduated earning an Associate Degree in Accounting. Thereafter she moved to Ithaca, where she was employed as a secretary at Cornell University.

While employed at Cornell, Geraldine met the love of her life, Ralph T, Fulmer, who was a student at Cornell at the time. On September 22, 1946, Geraldine was united in marriage with Ralph T. Fulmer, at the Methodist Church of Ithaca, NY.

In 1956, the couple moved to Boonville and settled on West St, where she and Mr. Fulmer operated Black River Ice Co. for many years. For twenty five years Mrs. Fulmer was employed as a secretary for W.B. Payne Insurance Agency, Boonville. After her retirement, she and Ralph spent many winters in Daytona Beach, Fla, and summers in Boonville. Mr. Fulmer passed away on October 13, 2000. In 1992, Geraldine relocated to Oneida, where she made her home with her daughter and son in law Christine and Fred Myers, until residing at the extended care facility.

She was a member of the Oneida Methodist and the Boonville Methodist Churches and a former member of the Oriental Rebekah Lodge of Boonville. Geraldine will be fondly remembered for her amazing abilities at playing the game of Pitch, earning her reputation as a “Card Shark.”

Geraldine is survived by three daughters, Carol Rowlands and Dominic Stalteri, Woodgate, Phyllis (Charles) Levensailor, Boonville and Mrs. Christine (Fred) Myers, Oneida and a son in law, James Armstrong, Taberg; seventeen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; at the present time Geraldine was joyfully anticipating the birth of another great great grandchild. She was predeceased by two daughters, Cynthia Fulmer and Patricia Armstrong; two sons, Paul Fulmer and Thomas Fulmer, a great grandson, C.J. Broadbent; the last of her siblings, she was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and William Hosford and by a sister, Marge Macy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where a calling hour will be from 11:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a Hospice organization of your choice.
