Frances L. Walter

Barneveld – Frances Louise Lahah Walter, passed away on August 10, 2025 at her home in Barneveld, NY.

Frances was born in Boonville on April 16, 1935 to the late Dean & Frances Hess Lahah. Frances graduated from Boonville Central School and worked at various offices in Lewis & Oneida Counties and retired from St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital. Frances was united in marriage to James Walter in 1980.

She was survived by 2 sons Kenneth (Valorie) Newvine and Kevin (Elaine) Newvine; four grandchildren: Melissa, Kenneth Jr., Skyler and Courtney Newvine, great grandson Ian Fruin, and Brooklyn Booker whom she loved as her own. Also surviving are brother Carlton Lahah, and many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply. Through her marriage she was also survived by Kyle (Deanne) Walter, Andrea (Jim) Moore, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Levere Lahah and stepdaughter, Suzanne Brand.

Frances enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, with her husband, friends and family especially SU College Football games and the Detroit Tigers Baseball games.

Her Funeral will be on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where calling hours will be Thursday, from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery and following, all are invited to attend a luncheon at the Boonville Elks Lodge, State Rt. 12, Boonville.
