Edith Marie Lorentz “Edie” passed away on March 22, 2026, in Greeley Colorado, with her sons by her side. Edie was 85 years old, but her friends and family all knew she was 27!
Edie was born in Utica NY. Daughter of Anabelle Litz and Walter Rusaw, she was the third born and had 9 brothers and sisters. She graduated from T.R. Proctor High school class of 58, after high school she enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, and was off to Paris Island. While in the Marines she got married, after discharged from the corps she had four sons John, Michael, Tuber, and Ronnie. Edie raised the boys while moving from post to post. Each son being born at a different station.
Edie worked most of her career in business. An accounting clerk, J.C. Penny credit department. She found a home in banking in 1980, started as a teller, then on to a banking specialist, operations officer, and retired as an assistant branch manager. All while attending college and receiving a degree in business. After retirement from the bank she stayed with money, in the count room at a casino. She returned to upstate NY in 1998 to be with Annabelle and reconnect with family. She acquired a fondness for bingo, scratchy tickets, and trips to the Casino. If she wasn’t home she was at the casino.
Edie loved her sons, grandkids, great grandkids. She has four grandchildren: Toni Stevie and Rikki (John), and Andy (Michael). Along with four great grandchildren Gabbi and Bam Bam (Toni) and James and Evie Marie (Rikki). All affectionately called her GRAM. After her son John passed in 2015, she moved to Colorado to spend more time with her sons.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 am at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment with military honors will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will precede the service beginning at 9:00 am
