Carol Sue Elsasser

Remsen, Carol Sue Elsasser, 69, of Fairchild Road, wife of Charles, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, July 25, 2026, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice.

Sue was born in Utica, NY on June 16, 1957, a daughter of George and Carol Briggs Worden. She spent her entire life in Remsen, where she participated in the volleyball and cheerleading squads at Remsen Central School, graduating with the Class of 1975.

On September 11, 1976 Sue was united in marriage with Charles J. Elsasser at Remsen Methodist Church. Sue lovingly embraced motherhood, proudly raising her two daughters together with Charles. For 22 years she was employed with Utica National Insurance Co., retiring in 2019 as Senior Control Specialist. Her talents in the kitchen, cooking and baking will be fondly cherished by her family, and remembered by many friends and co-workers.

Sue and Charles enjoyed traveling. Taking part in 18 cruises, together they enjoyed exploring the Pacific Coast, Alaska, Central America, Nova Scotia and the Caribbean. They also attended several Broadway musicals. She was a longtime member of the Remsen Methodist Church, actively volunteering for all church events. Above all, the time spent with her grandchildren was what held the most precious place in Sue’s heart.

Besides her husband Charles, Sue is survived by her daughters: Carrie (Tim) Skermont, Remsen, and Kayla (Cody) Luebbert, Boonville, her cherished grandchildren: Emma and Noah Skermont, Anthony Noti, Ella Ernst, and Cohen Luebbert. Also surviving are brothers Steve Worden, Wayne Worden, and sisters: Gail (Roger) Helmer, and Wendy Bolos. She was predeceased by her grandson Dylan Luebbert in 2018.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Remsen Methodist Church on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm. There will be no calling hours.
