Boonville- Brett M Parsons, aged 56, passed away unexpectedly on Aprll 22nd, at Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was born on July 4th, 1968, in Rome, NY, to Charles and April Parsons. He was a resident of Boonville, NY but he grew up in the town of Forestport and was a 1986 honor graduate of Adirondack High School. Upon graduation Brett proudly served as a United States Marine reservist until 1995. During this time, he was actively deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm from December 1990 to April 1991. Brett was a very proud veteran and loved the Marine Corps.

Although he never married, the love of his life was Alicia Mosher whom he had spent the last 12 years of his life with and he enjoyed their time together immensely. Throughout his life, he worked many different jobs and was very skilled in various positions. Brett was very intelligent and should have went on jeopardy with his knowledge of trivia especially in music.

He had many hobbies when he was a kid. He was an avid fisherman and would go out on the Forestport pond from sun up to sun down in his row boat. From his Dad, Brett received a deep love of music and was a very good athlete in high school playing basketball. Later in life he found photography and excelled in this field. He especially loved taking photos of nature and created some fantastic pieces that hang in many places today. His quick wit and funny stories always had the ability to make anyone smile.

Brett was employed for the last 13 years at Mativ in Lowville, New York, where he was fondly nicknamed Mr. Awesome (whenever anyone asked him how he was doing, he always responded “Awesome”). Prior to his employment at Mativ he worked at Orion Bus in Oriskany, New York, where he and Alicia met.

He is survived by and will forever be missed by his son Nicholas Pfendler, life partner, Alicia; an older sister, Cheryl and her husband Nick Alger, younger brother Daryl and his wife Melissa Parsons , his namesake Brett Ellen, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, on Monday, April 28, from 3-6 p.m, where a Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 P.M.
