Bonita A. Russell

The family of Bonnie Russell sadly announces her passing on May 1st at Wynn Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Utica on December 5th, 1952, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary Ellen (Boudreau) Russell. She grew up on Sheard Street in Old Forge.

She graduated from the Town of Webb School in 1970. She attended SUNY Cobleskill and received an AA degree in Early Childhood Development. She received her BS in Elementary Education from SUNY Plattsburg.

Bonnie moved to Connecticut where she was employed as a nanny by several families in the Old Greenwich area.

She returned to Boonville in 2008 and resided with her sister on Post Street. She worked for Hand and Hand, did childcare and most recently worked at Awesome Country as a retail clerk.

She was predeceased by her parents and younger brother Chris. She is survived by her sister Susan of Boonville and Frederick ‘Ted’ (Wilma) of Old Forge.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 5th from 4 to 8 at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Rev. Matthew Rawson, will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 6th at 12pm at St. Joseph’s Church, Charles St. Boonville. In addition to the visitation hours and Mass of Christian Burial, relatives and friends are also invited to attend committal services at Riverview Cemetery, Old Forge, NY, at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
