Anthony R. Hayes

Boonville – Anthony R. Hayes, 49, of Joslin Road, passed away in the comfort of his home on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

He was born in Gloversville, NY on March 13, 1976, a son of Howard Hayes and Kathleen E. Murray. As a young child he moved to Glenfield, NY, where he received his education at South Lewis Central School. Affectionately known as Tony, he was a talented skier, earning many medals in Special Olympics Ski competitions. He was also a very talented artist and enjoyed drawing.

Anthony was a professional wrestling enthusiast and was very knowledgeable of the sport and many of its athletes. He will be remembered by many in the Boonville and Port Leyden areas as the deliverer of their Rome Daily Sentinel Newspaper. He absolutely loved his work delivering the papers and seeing everyone on his route.

He is survived by his mother Kathleen Simpson, Boonville, sister Stacey Bellen, Port Leyden, sister Jessica Coppernoll, and brother Chad Kryzak, both of Gloversville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father Howard, and sister Randa Berry, and an infant brother Howard C. Hayes.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 2:00 pm at Abundant Life Fellowship Church, State Route 12, Boonville, with Pastor Dan Tabolt officiating. There will be no calling hours.
