Ruth E. Sawyer

Boonville- Ruth E. Sawyer, 77, of Aubrey Ave., passed away while under the care of her loving family at her residence on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. For 56 years Ruth was a resident of Whitingham, Vt., moving to Boonville in 2010. She was born in Ballston Spa, on August 22, 1934, a daughter of William and Lena Smith Arnold. Ruth grew up in Ballston Spa, where she graduated from high school. For ten years she was employed as a bookkeeper at Sawyer Bentwood, Inc. of Whitingham VT. She greatly enjoyed crocheting and traveling. Ruth is survived by a daughter and son in law, Linda S. Batchelder, and Bob Roberts, Constableville, and one son; Rickey E. Phelps, Whitingham, VT. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Paul Phelps, on March 7, 1998. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Peter White and his wife, Nina, Stevens, PA, Keith Phelps, Vicky Billings, Bennington, VT, Danette Littleton, and husband, Charles, Muriel Phelps, all of Whitingham, VT; nine great grandchildren; Chris, and Kayla, Keegan, and Karissa Littleton, Azalia and Azriorelle Rodan, Kristine, Dillion, and Shane Billings, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special friend, Merl Harvey, Boonville, and her dog "Precious." Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 23, from 5-8 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Services will be held at Whitingham Cemetery, Whitingham, VT. on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 12 Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Co. Humane Society PO Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.
