Nancy L. Langkans

January 5, 1938 — January 2, 2023

Holland Patent- Nancy L. (Van Kirk) Langkans, 84, of Fox Road, formerly of Hurlbut St. Boonville, and widow of Gerald, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at The Pines of Utica, where she had resided since December, 2022.


A native of West Virginia, her younger life was spent in West Virginia, where she received her education and married Gerald L. Lambert. For several years Nancy was employed as a cook at coal mining camps. In 1964, the couple moved to Holcomb, NY and Nancy was employed for the warehouse of Neisner’s Department Stores, Rochester. Later the couple were divorced.


Later Nancy was married to Gerald Allen Langkans, in Utica, NY. Afterwards, the couple settled on Pines Road, near Boonville. Mrs. Langkans was employed for several years at Neisner’s Department Store in Lowville. The couple moved to Hurlbut St. Boonville, where they constructed a home and Nancy was a caregiver for many years for her daughter, Nancy Ellen Lambert, who was injured in an accident while serving her country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Langkans, a retired postal worker, passed away on September 9, 2011.


Nancy is survived by two sons, Ronald Eugene (Cindy) Lambert, of Wisconsin, Gerald L. (Jackie) Lambert, Jr, and family, Marcy; and a half-sister, Lisa McMasters, Dennison, Ohio. The last of her family, she was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.


In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trenton Fire Department (Holland Patent) Center Street, Holland Patent, NY 13354. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
