Woodgate - Mary T. McGee, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Born in New York City on July 23, 1923, she moved to eastern Long Island where she graduated from Southampton High School. She later worked as a stenographer at Camp Evans, NJ during WWII. Mary was united in marriage with Lawrence T. McGee, Sr. in 1947. The couple made their home in Bridgehampton, NY. Mary and Larry later enjoyed retirement by traveling extensively throughout the continental US and Hawaii. Mr. McGee passed away just prior to the couple's 50th wedding anniversary. After suffering a stroke in 2007, Mary moved to Woodgate to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was an active volunteer in the Columbiettes and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary parish in Bridgehampton for many years. An avid bingo player, reader, and animal lover, she was also a friend of the Adirondack Forever Wild Garden Club. Mary is survived by her children, Larry and Jean McGee, Jr. of Hampton Bays, NY, Kathy and Bob Lawrence of Woodgate, NY, Dorothy McGee of Hillsborough, NC, Marie McGee and Jeff Denman of Yuma, AZ, and Marge McGee of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Michael Lawrence of Atlanta, GA, Sharon and Fred Scadin of Flat Rock, MI, Daniel and Diana McGee of NYC, and Andrew McGee of Hampton Bays, NY; two great-granddaughters, nieces, a nephew, and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on February 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Boonville, where the Rev'd Sean P. O'Brien will officiate. Interment will take place on April 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Calverton National Cemetery, Riverhead, Long Island, where Deacon Padulla will officiate as Mary is laid to rest beside her husband. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. of Boonville.
