Beverly J. 'Bev' Andrews

Boonville- Beverly J. (Martin) Andrews, 95, a longtime resident of Summit Street and widow of Orin, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at St. Lukes Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. For the past year, Beverly had resided at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Beverly was born in Rome, on June 1, 1924, a daughter of Amos Henry and Jessie Mae Johnson Martin. She grew up in Rome, receiving her education at St. Aloysius Academy through 12th grade. While living in Rome, she was employed as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. of Rome. On March 16, 1946, Beverly was united in marriage with James Orin Andrews, at the Boonville Methodist Church parsonage. After moving to Boonville, Mrs. Andrews was employed as an operator at Black River Telephone Co., which was located in the Dodge Building, next to the Hulbert House in Downtown Boonville. Later Beverly was employed as a waitress in area restaurants. For many years Beverly assisted her husband, Orin, in the operation of his appliance and electrical business, in Boonville, known as Andrews Electric. Mrs. Andrews was of the Catholic faith and she was a life member of Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, of Boonville and she greatly enjoyed doing word jumble puzzles in the newspaper and cooking. Most of all Beverly loved her husband, family, being a loving wife to Orin and loving mother to her children and providing for her family. She is survived by four sons, James Orin (Janice) Andrews, Jr. Huntington, West VA, William Charles (Mindy) Andrews, Lyons Falls, Jeffrey P. Andrews, Boonville, Michael Curtis Andrews, Sr. and his significant other, Patricia Hunter, Boonville and one daughter, Peggy Lee (Brad) Dale, Boonville. On January 16, 1988, Beverly was predeceased by her husband, James Orin Andrews, Sr., a US Army Veteran of WW II, and well known Boonville area electrician. Beverly was also predeceased by three sons; her eldest, Ronald Johnson, Lawrence Ray Larry Andrews, in 2015 and Charles Joseph Andrews, in 1986 and by one daughter, Linda Lampman, in 2006 and son in law, Timothy Lampman, in 2018. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and one brother, Kendall P. Martin, Canastota, NY. She was predeceased by ten brothers, Arlin L., Robert V., Ercell M., James Erwin, Amos Henry, Donald Francis, Roderick Duane, Claire Joseph, Leon Frederick and Charles Laverne and by five sisters; Eloyse Carletta, Vivian Allard, Eleanor Marie Mroz, Lucille Roberta Nolan and Rosemary Eloyse. Her Funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Thomas A. Ward, pastor of St. Josephs Church, Boonville, will officiate. Interment will be in the spring in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Members of the Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. Ladies Auxiiliary will meet in a group to conduct services on Friday at 7:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, 108 Park Ave. Boonville, NY 13309. A luncheon will immediately follow the Beverly's service at the Charles J. Love Post American Legion on East Schuyler St. Boonville, where contributions of food may be delivered on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. on.
